We have riders of our folding electric bikes in NZ now on their ninth year of ownership with rave reviews. The Dahon frame geometry you will recognize from other folding e-bikes, but that is where the similarities end. Do not compare our Viento with generic Chinese ebikes sold by other importers in NZ. The wheels of the Viento are German Weinman the spokes are EU Sanvik 13 guage cargo-bike stainless, the rack is 25 kg rated and the electronics are upgrade Kinetic hi-capacity. The Sony celled removable battery is tested according to UN38.3 (EU requirement), the fasteners are stainless steel and the bearings are all sealed. Then, after recognizing that the specs on the Viento are far above generic Chinese folding bikes on the market, note the two year guarantee. Finally, ride our Viento confirming that these quality points all add up to superior performance and reliability. Our motor is a powerful 300 continuous power rating which procuces much higher on hill climbs and it climbs hills like a champ. We have Viento riders on many of the steep sections of cities around New Zealand.
The rear carrier mounted battery is not an ideal location on full size e-bikes because it puts the weight high and back. On the 20 inch wheel folder like the Viento, however, it still keeps the battery weight low enough to not be an issue. the battery securely locks into the carrier frame with a keyed ignition. Battery removal is only possible by use of key. The Viento comes with a hi-output 4 amp charger, which charges the battery in half the time as the majority of ebikes on the market today. this means that you can significantly charge up your battery while you are having lunch at a far point of your ride.
Kinetic packs in the accessories on their bikes and the Viento is no exception. Note the Dutch Spanninga lighting, the heavy duty side stand, the puncture resistant tyres, and the brass bell and polycarbonate mudguards. Stainless fasteners throughout the bike make it an ideal dockside get-around companion.
The motor is the 300 continuous output (goes double that wattage on hills) hi-torque version with more rare-earth magnets fitted into the hub for better climbing. This also increases the starting torque, so it throttle starts facing uphill or under cargo load very well. Throttle override lets you zoom away across intersections or passing other riders yet returns you to the desired pedal assist when released. This is a great hill flattening e-bike that will climb with you in an amazing way, yet is speced to go the distance long term.
We have many of our folding e-bikes still running well for people for nine years running in NZ. Quality components and after sale service make the longevity difference. We stock the Viento in red, green, black or green with black equipment accents.
You will get what you pay for with our Viento, and more value than you will find elsewhere.
